Wake On LAN

Seneca Server Settings:

1.       Wake on LAN BIOS Setting (-12CH/-2CH/–UP)

·       Get into the BIOS by pressing the Delete key during boot up

·       Navigate to the “Advanced” tab

·       Highlight “APM” and hit Enter

·       Select “Power on by PCIE” and set to [ENABLED]

·       Save changes and exit 

2.       Change network adapters in windows to allow wake on LAN (Magic Packet)

·       Go to Device Manager

·       Find the NIC you will be using for Wake-on-LAN under Network Adapters

·       Right-click the adapter and go to “Properties”

·       Navigate to the “Advanced” tab

·       In the “Property” menu, find “Wake on Magic Packet”

·       Set the “Value” to “Enabled”

3.       NetOp WOL settings

·       Set Wake on LAN in phone book with MAC address

·       Get MAC address in CMD prompt: (ipconfig/all physical address)

·       Add to MAC address to inventory list

·       In the advanced communication profile set up (Ex:1)

                                                               i.      Add the correct octet in the IP broadcast list

                                                             ii.      Set TCP/IP for the communication device and the internet communication

·       In the advanced TCP/IP configuration set up (Ex:2)

                                                               i.      Check to use default port numbers (6502)

                                                             ii.      Check to use all available IP addresses
