Server Provisioning Process NT


1. Connect 4-8 displays and power on device 
2. Add server information to inventory list 
  1. 3. Disabling POST step #1 Silent Boot Procedure (0n CCCores only) 

  • POST is visible when first booting up a machine, before the operating system is loaded. Here are the steps for disabling POST in the BIOS: 
  • During initial startup, press and hold the ‘DEL’ key to get into the BIOS. 
  • Locate the ‘Boot Menu’ tab. 
  • Under ‘Boot Logo Display’: choose ‘FULL SCREEN’ 
  • Save changes and don’t exit until after the following step is complete: 
  1. 4. Wake On LAN BIOS Setting for the -12CH/-2CH/–UP: 

  • Get into the BIOS by pressing the Delete key during boot up 
  • Navigate to the “Advanced” tab 
  • Highlight APM and hit Enter 
  • Select Power On By PCIE and set to [ENABLED] 
  • Save changes and exit 
  1. 5. Delete Team Viewer and exit from system tray 

  2. 6. Set desktop to black solid color 

  3. 7. Change Desktop items to remove the computer and Recycle Bin 

  4. 8. Delete Desktop all items and auto hide taskbar 

    (Control Panel Items)  

  5. 9. Turn off Windows automatic updates 

  6. 10. Turn off windows firewall 

  7. 11. Leave Windows Defender automatic scans ON (GOAA will turn it off) 

  8. 12. Check graphics cards version in device manager 

  9. 13. Change network adapters to allow wake on LAN (Magic Packet) 

  10. 14. Allow Remote Desktop 

    • -Go to System/remote settings 

    1. -allow remote connections any version 
  11. 15. Name computer with GOAA naming convention 

  12. 16. Set-up power policy 

    • Nothing to sleep 

    • No power savings 

    • Max performance 

  13. 17. Remove Team Viewer (Be sure to exit background program 1st) 

  14. 18. Check all programs are installed including C++ redistribution (08,10,12,13) 

  15. 19. Add IP address/Set-up NIC Teaming using GOAA IP provided address (use most left port)

  16. 20. Verify user name is synect. 

    • - If the device is a UP or a Messenger, the user names: synect-1U 

    • - Change the 2ch name in the computer management 


21. Set up password (CTRL/ALT/DEL)
22. Copy software folders from External HD to Install folder 
  • - C++ 
  • - Create a new Cnario folder for certificate and existing software  
  • - NetOp 
  • - backgroundDefault.jpeg 
  • - DirectX9c (2CH servers need DirectX9c) 
  • - .net452    (2CH servers need .net4.5.2) 
  1. 23. Install Cnario  

  • Use version .225 for the CCCores  
  • version .225 for the UP’s. (see below)  
  • Delete from desktop 
  • Pin to start menu 
  1. 24. Create a certificate Request for C-Nario 

  • Create a Certificate Request for C-Nario save it in the install folder and on external HD 
  • Email certificate to YCD Support, CC: Moshe and Ido 
  1. 25. Install NetOp Host trial  

  • Set Wake on LAN in phone book with MAC address 
  • Get MAC address in CMD prompt: (ipconfig/all physical address) 
  • Add to MAC address to inventory list 
  1. 26. Complete remaining server/silent-boot procedure  

    *(see full instructions below) 

  2. 27. Step #2 Silent-Boot Procedure (On CCCore's only) 

  • open Command Prompt 
  • Start Menu > Run > cmd  
  • Type this command: Bcdedit /set {current} quietboot Yes 
  1. 28. Step #3 Silent-Boot Procedure (0n CCCores only) 

  • Open the Windows Start menu and enter regedit into the search bar. 
  •  Right click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and select Find. 
  •  Search for OEMBackground, which should be in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Authentication/LogonUI/Background. If the - -  key does not exist, add a new DWORD value with the name OEMBackground. 
  • Double click on the entry OEMBackground, and change the value from 0 to 1. 
  1. 29. Step #4 Silent-Boot Procedure (0n CCCores only) 

  • Open Windows Explorer and go to the following path: %windir%system32oobe. 
  • Create a new folder named info, and open it. 
  •  Create a new folder within info named backgrounds. 
  •  Rename your desired wallpaper as backgroundDefault.jpg and place it inside the folder backgrounds (images must be less than 245KB in size). 
  1. 30. Step #5 Silent-Boot Procedure (0n CCCores only)

  • Restart device and check for black content instead of Windows logo
31. Install C-nario 
  • Load signed certificate 
  1. 32. Launch C-nario and change the name canvas controller to match GOAA naming convention 

  2. 33. Schedule patching/networking and domain join the device through GOAA 


  3. 34. UP additional set up settings: 

    A. Installation of Cnario Version .222 

  • Copy install files to Install folder 
  • Install (64 version) 
  • Copy and replace .exe file from install folder and paste into new Cnario folder in program files (x86)  
  • Copy and replace MSG_Objects.dll file from install folder and copy and replace into the following folder: 
  • *C:\ProgramFiles (x86) \C-nario Universal Player\CustomItems\WebFeedReader2Player 
  • Request Certificate 
  • Load new certificate once received  
  • Disable Canvas Controller (make false) 
  • Check version to make sure the new one is listed   
    •  

    B. Installation of Cnario Version .225 

  1. 1. Copy install files to Install folder 

  2. 2. Stop and end all Cnario, CCCore and Watchdog applications 

  3. 3. If this is a current production UP (then make a backup of the configuration file to reuse after installation so you have the same settings and they will not be lost) 

  4. 4. Uninstall Cnario Player Software 

  5. 5. Delete Cnario folder from Program files (x86) 

  6. 6. Delete Cnario folder from Program files 

  7. 7. Check start-up to make sure the program is removed 

  8. 8. Install new version (if production, make sure that the check box for "Create a default display device" is NOT checked. Do not create a default display device or you will lose your settings) 

  9. 9. Open Cnario/Cancel playback 

  10. 10. Check version and leave open 

  11. 11. Make sure CCCore64 is running (X86) This can be checked in the watchdog log file
